Memories

In 90's, Mr.Philip D'mello, started a new style of using a canvas -- ' Box Board '. It was then adapted by many artists. As an Interviewer, I noticed he sticks to one statements more, of ' Doing things Differently ' , and so is his work. Today, he still remembers about the art he made on 'boxboard' and perceives how the drops of water color are being absorbed by this beautiful canvas. I would like to present before you some of his old but finest work done on paper, canvas and boxboard. This paintings were exhibited in 1992 -1994 in his group shows and even in one man shows.  

I had always like to travel, and some landscapes had made an impressions on my mind... Even today when I close my eyes I still remember the beauty and serenity of that impression. Canvas'ing' them here are few landscape memories....

Cattling was one of our primitive activity and were regarded as a wealth for a every farmer's family. Canvas'ing' each moments that was cherished and remembered about them. It was part of a theme and was exhibited at following places: India Art Gallery, Pune-2010 Renaissance Gallerie, Bengaluru-2011 Chitrakala Parishad, Bengaluru-2012 Birla Academy of Art and Culture,Kolkata-2012

My last visit to southern India (velankanni) bought some beautiful memories with it. Remembering the places, I recollected some faces, their expressions and appearances.       Tonsuring is a common practice followed by some religious devotees. I tried to capture their  feelings by canvas'ing' them..    Even today each painted face reminds me of  particular place and my interactions there...
